How Lexie's Illustrations Came Alive

The beginning

learning, teaching, illustrating

Since I was a little girl I’ve always had a passion for fashion  illustration and art. I remember being in elementary school and having a  pen and paper in my hand at all times.  My favorite tools as a kid were  small tip ink pens like these :  https://bit.ly/2TVcBGh

I realized how much I loved art/illustrations even more when I already finished college, where I planned to become a teacher (working with kids  was something I really enjoyed). I would look at art, fashion  illustrations, Vogue magazine, Cosmo, Nylon and wanted to create images  that evoked the same feeling as those did for me. I moved to Los Angeles and tried to pursue an art career which quickly proved to be difficult. I still worked my 9-5 job in education, but really wanted  to work for myself. I decided to put a plan in place to make time for my illustrations regardless of what else was on my plate and I still  dedicate a strict number of hours to my illustration each week.

from dream to reality

I started vending at pop up markets in Los Angeles and opened an online store in 2014.  I then started making enough side income in 2017 that would once be thought of as an impossibility, which gave me hope. A small goal has been reached but I am still on my way towards much, much bigger ones! My new product launch is coming in December of 2019 with  all of the saved up illustrations I have been working on in 2018-2019. Thank you for supporting my brand and reading my story!
